Gold Coast Pro 2026 WSL Fantasy Guide: Snapper Forecast, Picks & Betting Watch

The Australian leg rolls on. As it nears on a close.. Who will win the GWM?

After a drawn out Margaret River finish, the Championship Tour now heads to Snapper Rocks for the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro.

And this one is a completely different game.

Margies threw a bit of everything, raw and grindy. Snapper is speed, rhythm, rail timing and flow. 

The bank is on and we finally may get to see some high-performance waves on this Aussie treble leg.

For us, George Pittar delivered the story of the event.

The Australian took down Gabriel Medina in the final (all thanks to a very questionable priority decision might we add), after already knocking over Filipe Toledo, Yago Dora and Italo Ferreira earlier in the event. His 15.17 to 12.46 win gave him his first CT victory and pushed him to second in the world rankings. Huge for the Aussie! 

On the women’s side, Lakey Peterson beat Luana Silva 12.23 to 11.83 for her second Margaret River win. Both very similar finals conditions. 

And yes, the WSL Fantasy app appears to still be catching up with final points.

We were watching that closely.. as are these legends! Can't say we are huge fans of the new WSL fantasy app in 2026.

Event Window

The Gold Coast Pro runs May 1 to 11, 2026 at Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta.

Snapper is famous for long right-hand walls, fast sections, tube pockets and high-performance surfing. Past winners in the field include both Stephanie Gilmore, Carissa Moore, Caroline Marks and Gabriel Medina. All huge chances for their first wins in years!

Their long-range read highlighted southerly winds as cross-offshore behind the rock, becoming more offshore down the bank, which is exactly what makes Snapper magic when the sand is right.
